Social Responsibility
At the Best Western Penmere Manor Hotel, we continuously strive to act responsibly towards our environment. We use a number of means of reducing our impact as a company, some of which are listed below:
- Around 75% of the food we sell is purchased from local suppliers and producers who operate within sixty miles of our hotel, ensuring the number of food miles is kept at a minimum whilst the quality of our food is extremely high.
- Customers are encouraged to re-use their towels rather than having them replenished daily.
- Ongoing refurbishment projects over the last two years have seen water saving initiatives, as well as reduced wattage lights installed in many puiblic areas, greatly reducing our electricity consumption. We also use timers, dimmers and daylight saving switches.
- We recycle paper, plastic, bottles, cans and cardboard, which greatly reduces the amount sent to landfill.
- Our indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi have UV filters, which are more beneficial for the skin than traditional chlorine.
