From March through to the end of October, five nights a week, we have live background music to enhance your evening in The Manor Restaurant.
Tony Cliff, our resident pianist three evenings a week, plays a wide range of popular classics, sophisticated jazz and many of his own swing compositions. Tony is a widely published composer and his music is regularly performed, broadcast and recorded. He is also an accomplished painter, and a number of his paintings hang in our lounge.
Popular with many of our regular guests, Tony is also in demand for private weddings and other functions. His music is available for sale in CD format.
Jon Salfield is a highly regarded Flamenco guitarist who has won acclaim for his solo and duo concert work throughout the UK. Most Saturday evenings Simon Stanton joins Jon to form Allegria, a unique combination of the Flamenco guitar with Latin-American percussion. With extensive improvisation, Jon and Simon incorporate influences ranging from Jazz to Latin and Caribbean music into the rhythms of traditional Flamenco dances.
Jon's other great passion is fencing, and he is currently ranked fourth in the British fencing team. Competition and training takes him to many venus throughout the UK and Europe on a regular basis. He is currently involved in setting up a training venue to train potential candidates to represent Team GB in the 2012 Olympics.
When Jons fencing commitments conflict with his music, we are fortunate to have Mathew Scott, another accomplished flamenco guitarist. Either Jon or Mathew can be booked for weddings and functions at our hotel.
