Cornish Asparagus Festival & Family Fun Day!

Due to the success of last year's festival, we will be celebrating again in 2008!  As the excellent reputation of Cornish produce grows across the country what better way to celebrate such a loved product. The FREE festival will be held on Sunday 18th May 2008 from 11am to 3pm and will feature asparagus demonstrations and discussions with our new head chef, Joe Lado Devesa, entertainment from 'Kernow Pipers', lots of educational material, a children's entertainer, bouncy castle and lots more!

Our traditional Sunday Lunch will be available using only the finest and freshest of Cornish produce - see menu below.

Asparagus Festival Lunch - Sunday 18th May 2008

To start

Tregassow asparagus soup, chive crème fraîche

Hot smoked salmon and asparagus terrine, watercress salad, olive toast
and lemon oil

Char grilled asparagus, olive toasted brioche, parma ham, parmesan crackling
and pesto

To Follow

Roast topside of beef, Yorkshire pudding, red wine gravy, goose fat roast potatoes

Roast leg of lamb, mint sauce, red wine gravy, goose fat roast potatoes

Steamed hake, asparagus, clam and vegetable stew, saffron
~
Baked aubergine, grilled asparagus, buffalo mozzarella, pesto and rocket

All dishes served with a selection of seasonal vegetables

For dessert

Lemon posset with berry compote

Apple and rhubarb crumble served with vanilla custard

Crème Catalan, raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream
